David’s current position as T&RS Engineering’s Quality and Assurance Engineer is enhanced by the supporting roles as a UKAS Assessor, ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor, Maintenance Scrutiny Engineer, Certification Engineer and component assessor. David is also registered as an IRCA Lead Auditor, and a former RSSB RISAS Lead Technical Expert. David also undertakes the role of an Independent Competent Person (ICP) for issuance of Second Party Attestation (Letter of Support) in accordance with RSSB Railway Industry Standard RIS-2700-RST.

David has spent the last 35 years within the railway transportation industry, the vast majority of time has been spent within a Maintenance environment. Specifically, over the past 25 years, he has gained broad experience in component condition assessment, condition monitoring in support of maintenance and overhaul optimisation exercises. His assessment skills have also been enhanced by being engaged in numerous supplier maintenance product audits, rolling stock asset and management system audits. 

David is also a computer literate Electrical Design Engineer, conversant with schematic, wiring harness, cable installation and termination techniques, using CAD.
